In early American animation there was music to express moods, feelings, and emotions of the characters, buts animation evolved in American to give each character there own individual personality. The development of television series brought a new age of animation.  There would no longer be silent film; America slowly had a transition into longer more verbal animation. Some successful American animations include Pink Panther (1964), Ralph Bakshi’s Fritz the Cat (1972), Heavy Traffic (1973), An American tail, Don Bluth’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), The Little Mermaid in the late 1980s and many others by Disney. The Flintstones was also a huge success for its time. This program was broadcasted during primetime television as a family show.
