Alfred University Student Gallery

IMG_3021

Earlier this year I took a trip to the Alfred University Student Gallery and found a piece that really cought my eye. First when you see this piece you notice how it uses different lighting to set the mood of the overall piece. The lighting was actually a huge part of the piece it self. The abstract shape of a bird shines a blue light at the wall behind the hanging piece. Small circular mirrors reflect white light from a different light from the ceiling which reflexes lighting all directions. The wall behind the piece has looks like bubbles in water from the contour of the reflection of the blue light and I really like that about this piece. One thing I don’t like is how you can still see some of the technical parts of this such as the wires from the lighting. There is also really thin clear wire holding up the glass mirrors that you could see when you are in the gallery but you can’t see them in the image I took. Over all this is a very nice piece that was apart of the Alfred University Student Gallery late last fall.
